From Aubretia to Wisteria: Plant Exploration from a Gardener’s Point of View

On Thursday, the 24th of October, Elizabeth McLean, author and garden historian, will lecture “on how we are now so used to getting plants from all over the world that we tend to take it for granted: roses from South America, Granny Smith apples from Australia. But this was not always the case. From the familiar lilac to the exotic Dove tree and the vibrant blue poppy, intrepid plant explorers have historically risked their lives to enrich our gardens.”
